Packers Activate TE Robert Tonyan, WR Christian Watson From PUP

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur announced Sunday team is activating Elgton Jenkins, Robert Tonyan and Christian Watson off PUP list, making all three eligible for individual drills in practice.

“It’s the next step in the process,” LaFleur said. “It’s not like they’ll be out there in team drills. They’ll do individual [drills] and some walkthroughs.”

The three offensive players were on the PUP list for different reasons. Tight end Tonyan suffered a torn ACL vs. Arizona last year, while offensive lineman Jenkins went down with the same injury vs. Minnesota just a few weeks later. Both players ended the season on injured reserve.

Watson, the second-round wide receiver from the 2022 NFL Draft, needed knee surgery in June to fix what he called “lingering soreness” from the offseason. The former South Dakota State Bison is part of Green Bay’s plan to replace Davante Adams’ production.

Each of the three players are key parts of the Packers roster, as Jenkins may start at left tackle, Tonyan one of Aaron Rodgers’ most trusted targets and Watson headlines a revamped wide receiver room in 2022.
