Harry Kane Scores Equalizer for Tottenham in 96th Minute vs. Chelsea (Video)

Harry Kane proved to be the savior for Tottenham in Sunday’s heated match against Chelsea, scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time to salvage a draw for Spurs.

Trailing 2–1 in the 96th minute, Tottenham winger Ivan Perišić whipped in a corner kick on what seemed to be the club’s final chance to draw even. Kane skied above a mass of teammates and Chelsea defenders to get his head on the ball first, placing it neatly into the far corner for the equalizer.

Despite playing on the road at Stamford Bridge, Kane immediately made his way over to a corner of loyal Spurs supporters to celebrate before he was mobbed by his teammates.

Kane’s first goal of the 2022–23 Premier League campaign ended a Tottenham run of five straight losses to Chelsea across all competitions. However, the Spurs have still won just one match at Stamford Bridge since 1992.

Sunday’s match between the two clubs was hotly contested throughout and tempers flared between Spurs manager Antonio Conte and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel on more than one occasion. After Kane’s heroics and the final whistle, Conte and Tuchel had to be restrained after shaking hands, resulting in red cards for each manager as they walked off the pitch.

Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg scored the first equalizer for Tottenham in the 68th minute while Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James were the two goal-scorers for Chelsea. Both clubs left Sunday’s draw with four points from two games so far this season.
